Good-bye cards

In the past 3 months, 2 students left our school, so I made farewell cards for them.  One girl is into goth/industrial metal, so it was easy to come up with a design.

Then for a boy who was moving back to Philippines…  I really like the printed card stock.  I have to see who makes it.  I am not in my craft room now, so I will check later.

Thank you card for giving me a guitar book

A friend of mine gave me a classic guitar tab book, so I used a card with guitar as a thank you card.  I embossed it with a retro embossing folder and Cuttlebug.  And I used a silver pen to write  a message.

5th birthday party

I was going to my friend’s daughter’s 5th birthday party and knew she likes Sesame Street.   So of course, I had to make a card with Sesame Street characters.  I used print/cut feature of Cricut.  Love this feature!

Box card for 50th birthday party

We were going to my husband’s friend’s 50th birthday party.  I don’t know him that well, so I could not think of anything, so I decided to make flowers for a box card.  It is a bit of work, but I love how they turned out!  I also etched shot glasses, but I can’t find pictures of them…

Yoga mat carrier from a dress

Again, my in-law was getting rid of this dress they bought in Africa.  I knew it is not something I would wear as is, but I took it anyway.

Then I realized I needed a yoga mat case and thought the dress is perfect for it.   There is an amazing embroidery around the neck line, so I decided to keep that area as an opening.  I got a lot of compliments!

Finally… one sewing project done!

Ever since I got a serger, I had lots of ideas…but never had time.  But I finished one a while ago!  It has been a couple of months, but  I am finally posting photos.

When my mother-in-law was downsizing, she was getting rid of this shirt and I knew I could do something with it.  So originally, it was size L.  I pinned a few places and changed the front part from straight opening to diagonal and moved buttons.  The dress form is not perfect, but it sure helps to have it.

After.  I am pretty happy with it.

Birthday card with bicycle and flowers

I wanted to make a birthday card for my sister-in-law (I think…  She is my husband’s step brother’s wife) who rides bicycle a lot.

So naturally, I wanted to include a bicycle on the card… and she loved it!

I really like the printed card.  It was on sale at Joann’s, but I can’t find it any more… 🙁

Birthday card with ocean/surfing theme

My husband is into surfing and loves ocean creatures, so I knew what I wanted to make…

A box card with a surf board and octopus, whale, sun and a wave!

It is so much to make box cards.  I love it!  This time, I shorten the box a bit, but I still had to make 7″x7″ envelope…

Snoopy birthday card

I have a friend who loves Snoopy, so I wanted to make a birthday card with Snoopy on it.  Well, my first attempt failed…

My husband thought it was cute, but I just was not happy with the quality.  So I made another one.  This one is going into a recycling bin.  🙁  Oh, well.  Sometimes, it just does not turn out how you imagined.

So this is another one I made.

I am much happier with this.  I found the outline file (black party), but it had nothing else…  so I created other parts.  “Happy birthday” banners were purchased a while back before I got Cricut, but I just wanted to used it.

Lots of birthdays in Aug…

Wedding card I didn’t use…

I made this wedding card first and then saw a box card for wedding and I had to make one, so I ended up with extra wedding card.  good thing I don’t have their name on it!  I want to start making extra card I can sell, so it is a good start…
